Painting From Within…

“My images seem to come from nothing. I show up at the canvas and wait.  Wait for a color, wait to be drawn to an area, to be informed.  They are birthed between the lines of my journals.

I do, sometimes, have a sense of an image or a direction with some paintings, but these occasions are far outnumbered by the painting sessions begun from “not knowing anything”.  This being-in-the-moment, allowing whatever shows up, is mysterious, joyful, and very exciting to me.  The images are sometimes familiar, but usually more abstract…always of a spiritual and healing nature.

I began painting in 2006 during a healing crisis.  Originally, the paintings were just for me.  The personal healing, expression, and self discovery I experience through my painting process has been life changing.  As I find my Voice, my Authentic Self, I long to share my art.

I offer my paintings and my story as inspiration to those who are aching to remember themselves.  That they follow the path of their longings and passions, and shine their unique light in the world.”
